Actors can do more than just Act!!

At rehearsal this afternoon, the cast of "The Waiter" proved that theatre is so much more than spending time in the limelight. Due to the size of the production space, the running crew is comprised of the very same actors seen portraying the lovable characters onstage...well, lovable in some cases.

Assistant Director, Suzanne Knapik, has spent many long hours pouring through the text in order to document every prop and set piece in the show, and has created a system of scene changes that can only be described as an intricate dance. Running the scene changes over and over BEFORE we move into the space will be extremely beneficial to the overall pace and flow of the production. The choreography for each scene change will be performed with a sense of precision and control worthy of applause.

Audiences wouldn't and shouldn't have it any other way!

Moving into the polishing stage of the rehearsal process can be frustrating, promising, and rewarding all at once.  Frustration appears within one's self at the moment "line!" is called after having studied the script all day. However, the production as a whole keeps moving forward and the air is filled with the excitement of  moving into the space, adding the remaining technical aspects, and of course, performing in front of a live audience!

After many long nights of character discovery and scene work, watching moments come alive onstage is truly a magical experience. It's typically during polishing rehearsals that actors take the chance to really watch the scenes they are not in, and have the opportunity to appreciate the amount of progress that's been made in the weeks since first read through. This is a time of last minute discovery, finalizing choices, and providing support for your fellow cast mates.

With a cast and crew brimming with talent, "The Waiter" is sure to be a performance to remember! Get your preview tickets now!!
